The Byzantine church, which is dedicated to the Virgin Mary was built on the ruins of a previous church of the 6th century. In this church, the bishop’s throne was located and that’s why the village took the name Thronos. It is full of rare and well-preserved frescos of the 16th century. It is only used in special occasions like the celebration of the Virgin Mary to protect it from erosion.
